We started the day with some cuddling on the couch while watching Martha Speaks and Curious George. We received our mission for the morning as soon as we watched George accidentally order 100 dozen donuts. I knew at that moment that my usual sugar-eschewing diet was about to be thrown out the window for the day.
"Mommy, I like donuts!"
"I know. Me too, honey."
[wide eyed] "Can we go to the donut store and get donuts?!"
"We'll see, honey."
Yup. We got ready, grabbed the ever-growing grocery list, and braved the craziest, most crowded grocery store you've ever seen. And amongst other things, we got donuts. The donuts alone could have made yesterday better. Donuts, donuts, donuts!
After acquiring our donut targets, Eva continued on her mission to have me read her every book in the house. Something tells me that we'll be hitting the library at least once a week from now on.
This afternoon after her nap she was in a creative mood and did a little painting after working on a couple of sticker mosaics. She looooves those sticker mosaics. She can work on them all by herself and the mess is minimal. Win! And after yesterday's paint incident, she was much more careful today. No paint smeared into my dining room chairs! Double win!
It wasn't anything exciting or spectacular, but it was most definitely better than yesterday. Here's hoping this trend continues!
Something tells me she likes the "Nemo" that Daddy brought her home today.
